Packing for NYFW

Posted by on

Lauren and I are packing and getting ready to head to New York for Fashion Week! We’ll be going to a few shows, visiting some of our favorite showrooms, live blogging at the IFB Evolving Influence conference, catching up with friends, and tweeting like mad! Having been spoiled by 70+ degree weather here on the left coast, I’m not sure I’m prepared for the cold! I’ve packed more than enough jewelry and boots and not nearly enough layers . . .

Deconstructing Tepee

Posted by on

The first week of the new year is almost over and man, has it been a hectic one. Our schedules have been insane but we’re working hard at creating some exciting new content and kick ass DIYs for you! I also finally got around to putting together some photos of Lauren and me in the Sierras last November, taking down the tepee on the most perfect fall day right before the arrival of winter. With some much needed man power, the canvas was taken down and is now tucked away until spring. Hope you guys have a fabulous weekend!

Indigenous People’s Day

Posted by on

We’ve just wrapped up our Tepee Workshop. This happened to land on the same weekend as the local Indigenous People’s Days celebration, which is an annual event that brings together native and non native people to honor indigenous history and culture. What fate! We took a break from sewing and headed to the Maidu Tribe Cultural Grounds and were instantly inspired by the the chanting, drum circles, and rituals.
