Antique Road Trip

In 1848, thousands of men and their families migrated to Placerville, CA in search of gold after hearing news of it’s discovery. A few weeks ago Lauren and I visited the birthplace of The Gold Rush via historic Highway 49, and found ourselves on our own search for treasures and antiques. We also paid a visit to the 150 year old Placerville Hardware Store, the oldest continuously operating hardware store west of the Mississippi River! Honestly!!

Pennsylvania

After spending a hectic week in New York City for Fashion Week, I retreated to Pennsylvania via train. I was blown away by my very first visit to this state: miles and miles of beautiful barns and farm houses, rolling mountains, animals, antique and thrift stores, Amish country, and a mix of 70 degree and snowy weather!

Norman Ambrose F/W 2011

Walking into Norman Ambrose‘s debut presentation at New York Fashion Week was like going to a glamourous party in the 70s where you didn’t really belong but also didn’t ever want to leave. Being fashion week newbies, we must say presentations are more interesting than the runway shows as you can actually take the time to appreciate the details. And honestly . . . the details! We adored the the cashmere knits adorned with old english coins, the sequined and feathered gowns, and embroidered blouses and cocktail dresses. Norman Ambrose. Don’t forget the name.

IFB Evolving Influence
