Oh, how we’re crushing on Leslie Tessler‘s collection of luxuriously handcrafted capes. Made in Argentina, where the New York designer currently resides, each style is produced in extremely limited runs and made of Peruvian alpaca, Italian cashmere, and French woven silk. Between the orange herringbone, the bright teal, and classic ivory, it’s hard to pick just one of these classic staples to keep me caped throughout the season!
Los Angeles based designer Jessica Seaton‘s collection is entirely hand sculpted and casted using the ancient method of lost wax. She told me her hands are always dirty from working with metals, staining wood, and dying fabrics, which explains the dip dyed fingers in her latest bohemian-inspired lookbook. I’m desperately needing the oversized naja ring!
Free People‘s Pet Project, a collection of eco-conscious collars, leashes, beds, and tags for cats and dogs, launches this Sunday in support of Philadelphia’s largest no-kill shelter and foster care network PAWS. The lookbook features rescued and adopted animals sporting bohemian must-haves for your furry friends. And 100% of proceeds from the Vintage Flag Bed, made from recycled and reused materials, will be donated to the non-profit. I, for one, can’t wait to get the beaded collar and the BFF tag for my bulldog!
McTega is the brainchild of two mad scientists . . . honestly. After Sarah McLellan and Kristina Ortega studied science, pre-med and microbiology in college, their paths eventually crossed interning for Rodarte in 2007. “We found these mirrored plexiglass pieces shopping in the garment district, and Sarah said, ‘Oh, these look like carbon link structures!’ We went from there, casting them in plastic to make our first necklace ever.”
Current obsession? Pinky rings. Bittersweets‘ dainty Club Pinky Rings, to be exact. Our favorite jewelry purveyor, Catbird, is giving away a set of these customizable 14k gold rings for you and your bestie so that you, too, can join the pinky club. All you have to do is like them on Facebook for a chance to win. You honestly won’t want to miss out on this one. I pinky swear.
