Oddly enough, I find wearing hats in the fall much easier than in the summer – probably because I generally prefer the heavier felt and wool variety. Designer Dani Griffiths has convinced me otherwise with this her collection of straw hats, in super chic shapes, for Clyde. I mean, a two-toned hat with a velour felt crown and wide straw brim? Love it. Sold.

Before Louis Vuitton and Goyard there was Moynat, the oldest French trunk manufacturers founded in 1849. The luxury brand recently created a bicycle featuring a picnic “basket” equipped with plates, cutlery, drawers for sandwiches and a place for wine glasses. Functional and trés chic? Absolutely. Within my budget? Not even close. But a girl can dream . . .

Whenever economic hardships hit, there is a growth in the sales of cosmetics. Case in point, the Wall Street Crash of ’29 caused a huge spike in lipstick sales and more recently, nail polish sales have skyrocketed due to the recession. Madrid based brand SuTurno has created two gorgeous scarves made of 100% silk to celebrate this trend in history as well as 30s glamour and the surrealist humor of Elsa Schiaparelli. We love the muted tones that contrast so nicely with bright pinks and reds!
