Giles Deacon officially took “the accessory of the season” to the next level at his fall showing this week in London. I’m inspired to go purchase the thickest skein of yarn and the largest needles possible to knit these sick, super-sized beanies.
Starting February 25th Emerson Fry has got you covered with every wardrobe essential you could possibly need, including railroad striped pants, worn-in tees, lightweight blouses, caftans, printed trousers, t-shirt dresses, and perfectly cropped jeans. Accessorize with a studded belt, dark shades, a big black bag, cuffed heels and done – you’re ready for spring!
A whole lot of romance and glamour, a bit of baroque, a touch of prep, and a hint of punk – there was something for every girl at Stacey Bendet’s Alice + Olivia fall presentation. The mix and match variations were inspiring with textures like ruffles, leather, burned velvet, and lace and patterns like brocade, plaids, and florals. I can’t stop thinking about the dreamy floor length floral skirt paired with a simple navy turtleneck!
Madrid-based label Delpozo made it’s New York Fashion Week debut over the weekend with an utterly impressive couture-like collection. Recently appointed creative director Josep Font combined organic architecture and the femininity of the Victorian era into futuristic yet elegant dresses, waist defining skirts with scalloped pleats, embellished wool tunics and pants, and delicate chiffon gowns. And of course, the unexpected color combinations made it all that much more delightful. I mean, burgundy and salmon? Swoon.
Dear Phillip, you had me at your first look this season: an embossed pink neoprene coat with a detachable leather bib. And then you continued to woo me with cross-body bags, motorcycle jackets, denim covered in custom patches, angora sweater dresses, and over-the-knee sandal boots. This cool-girl persona you’ve so masterfully created?! I want to be her.
Though we’re only ankle deep in next season’s showings, it’s clear that the menswear trend has carried over to fall. Case in point: Thakoon Panichgul‘s latest collection for Thakoon Addition where striped shirting, slouchy trousers, and sharp suits were executed with such ease. I’m personally craving all the oversized knits, knitted outerwear, and patent leather loafers . . . suit me up!
