Band Of Outsiders F/W 2011

Posted by on

The original inspiration for Scott Sternberg’s Band Of Outsiders Fall Collection was the book The Stonemasters and its images of California rock climbers in the 70s (brilliant!!). And the result was two women’s collections: Boy and Girl. Of course our favorite of the two was the menswear-inspired Boy, with blanket wool jackets and ponchos, plaid cropped trousers, leather climbing booties, layered wool socks and slouchy beanies galore.

Rag & Bone F/W 2011

Rag & Bone blew us away with a futuristic, Inuit inspired collection packed with electric blues and rusty oranges color-blocked with earth tones, banded trousers, striped leggings and tweed ponchos. A collection that makes us crazy enough to wish for arctic weather conditions all year long is honestly WTF brilliant.

Norman Ambrose F/W 2011

Walking into Norman Ambrose‘s debut presentation at New York Fashion Week was like going to a glamourous party in the 70s where you didn’t really belong but also didn’t ever want to leave. Being fashion week newbies, we must say presentations are more interesting than the runway shows as you can actually take the time to appreciate the details. And honestly . . . the details! We adored the the cashmere knits adorned with old english coins, the sequined and feathered gowns, and embroidered blouses and cocktail dresses. Norman Ambrose. Don’t forget the name.

Jason Wu F/W 2011

Today we saw an amazing Edwardian & menswear inspired collection at Ruffian. Then Jason Wu’s Victorian & Baroque inspired collection really pushed us over the edge, having us immediately lusting over cigarette pants, lace and silk blouses, and bow ties! And honestly, how covetable is the grey sweater with the lace detail down the sides?!?
