It’s no surprise that Argentinian designer Maia Bergman‘s final collection, before graduating from Central St. Martin’s School of Design, put her in the running for the 2013 H&M Design Award. Maia brilliantly embellishes sheer and simple silhouettes with tiny and colorful plastic beads, while drawing inspiration from the repetitive patterns of bacteria growth and the downtown punk and pop sensibility of designer Stephen Sprouse. We’re honestly blown away by the textures and details and are just dying to see more from this emerging designer!
Doesn’t the styling in Mango‘s summer catalog make you want to immediately pack your bags and jetset to the most faraway destination?! We’re loving the high waisted pants, ikat printed jackets and lightweight blouses paired with wide brimmed hats, bold jewelry and the occasional sarape draped over the shoulder. So chic.
Rarely do we ever share the same collection twice but Ulyana Sergeenko‘s spring couture lookbook is just too damn good not to swoon over it a second time. The hats, the gowns, the embroidered sunglasses, the cinched waists . . . the DRAMA! Honestly, mind blowing.
Mixing traditional Americana with modern nostalgia, designer Kelsy Carleen Parkhouse has our hearts aflutter with her impressive debut collection. The Pratt graduate and recent recipient of the inaugural Liz Claiborne Award found inspiration in the stratification and color palette of the Grand Canyon, as well as the age-old art of quilting. We’re simply smitten with the colorblocked dresses held together with buttons, hand quilted separates and gauzy skirts. And if you have a few minutes, be sure to check out the video below which highlights the painstakingly beautiful details of her pieces.
Micaela Greg, a San Francisco based knitwear company, was founded by sisters Marie and Karen Potesta who produce all their pieces with the softest Egyptian cotton and cashmere imported from Italy. The simple silhouettes and muted palettes have me wanting to wrap myself in the sweaters and cardigans for those cool spring nights.
Once again, Zimmermann continues to dominate the swimwear scene with another desirable collection featuring romantic floral prints, sweetheart bust lines, and charming details like bows and ruffles. Now we’re just left wondering, where is the sun?!
