Guest Post: Re-imagining Kenzo

by MISS MOSS (If you aren’t already familiar with Diana’s blog, Miss Moss, you are truly missing out. It’s absolutely one of our favorite reads and we were beyond delighted when she agreed to contribute to a series of guest posts on HonestlyWTF. You’re in for a treat!)

One of my favourite shows from the recent Spring 2012 collections was the “new” Kenzo - which was recently taken over by creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, the geniuses behind Opening Ceremony. Drawing inspiration from Senegalese textiles, Finnish Marikmekko prints, and Japanese kimonos, Diane von Furstenburg was all about conveying exuberance, optimism, and new beginnings in her Spring collection. The color combinations were beyond uplifting and fresh: bright pastels mixed with muted grays and rusts; high octane reds, blues and greens mixed with aubergine and stark whites. It’s no wonder the show ended with Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” . . .
