Do you remember that commercial that aired a few years ago involving hundreds of thousands of colorful bouncy balls wildly bouncing down the steep streets of San Francisco? Not only was it balls to the wall amazing, it was 110% real! And honestly, who doesn’t love bouncy balls? Danish photographer Peter Funch was there to capture the impressive spectacle and thanks to my new favorite online art store, Lumas, the limited edition prints are available for sale.

If you’ve got a few minutes to spare today and are looking to be inspired, check out this short film showing how French artists Supakitch and Koralie created a beautifully detailed mural from start to finish. The Japanese inspired mural was put together last fall for an exhibition in Sweden called Kimono Fusion.

Each year the French Ministry of Culture and Communication invites a leading artist to create a work that responds to the exceptional architectural space of the Grand Palais in Paris. For Monumenta 2011 Indian-born artist Anish Kapoor has created Leviathan, a 75,000 cubic-meter balloon made of PVC vinyl. While the exterior may appear to be opaque and aubergine in color, the inside, which visitors are welcome to enter, is a translucent cherry red. If you know me well, you’ll know that I have an unexplainable fear of balloons. But if I were in Paris, this would just be too damn good to pass up experiencing in person. Honestly, incroyable!

Canadian photographer Todd McLellan has inspired me to look around and take things apart for their components (DIY supplies?). Todd disassembles and meticulously rearranges the inner working parts of everyday items such as a camera, a flip clock and a typewriter. The result is a series of incredibly interesting photographs!

Peggy Wolf was studying fashion design for several years until she realized she enjoyed drawing more than designing. Her use of watercolors, pastels, ink, and sometimes even real flowers (yellow orchid below) gives her work a bit of a vintage edge and some quirkiness. All the prints are available in her Etsy shop.
