With just a wheelbarrow, a shovel, a pickaxe and his dog, American artist Ra Paulette has spent the last few decades chiseling caves from sandstone mesas in Northern New Mexico. But these aren’t your “average” caves. Ra scrapes, chips and carves the walls to create breathtaking patterns with flawless texture and caverns that let in the most glorious light. It’s all just a bit bewildering and wonderfully insane. My fascination has be excited to check out the documentary Cavedigger, profiling him and his work.
